I think I’m finally learning that I can barely keep up with one site, much less multiple sites for basically the same purpose. I’ve started back up on deviantART with a shiny new page, and I’m still kicking around LiveJournal sometimes, mostly because I get a little more exposure. That doesn’t mean that I’m done with this site, oh no!

Just in case people were wondering whatever happened to me, and if I’m ever going to make a SIXTH POST (okay, I didn’t actually go back and count my posts, but I can’t be far off), yes, I am alive and well, just…lazy as always.

So here are a couple of things I’ve been working on since the last time I posted here:

Chibis! My night elf hunter with her lion (okay, I’m like, ridiculously proud of taming Sambas)…he…has a bad habit of running off. This time, he smelled fish. Too bad it was in a naga’s pocket.

A WIP of my warrior, Aeryth. Sure, she’s scrawny for a prot warrior, but she’ll kick an ass or two, don’t worry.

A goblin shaman for the exchange on LiveJournal. I had a ton of fun with this. Textures are awesome. So are goblins <3

A tauren shaman commission for a very sweet lady over on LiveJournal. This one was a lot of work, but totally worth it! Tauren are so cute <3

A tauren priest for another nice lady from LiveJournal! SPARKLIES. YES.

So this is Robyn riding a rainicorn. If you haven’t seen Adventure Time you probably won’t get it/enjoy it as much, but I can’t be held responsible for any head-scratching or time wasted trying to figure this image out. Anyway, I spent an afternoon agonizing over the stupid logo, and probably about 30 minutes drawing and coloring the rest. Prioritiessss~

I don’t have much else to show for what, a month? TWO? since my last post, but here are a couple of things I did for the WoW art exchange over on Livejournal:

From March’s exchange, this is Haiyde with her impish imp :b Uhh, I’m not so great at dappled shading or like…backgrounds…lighting…colors…lol. Still, it was fun to draw the imp. I’ve never drawn one before :3

And this one for the April/May exchange totally snuck up on me. What has two thumbs and hasn’t drawn a dinosaur since sixth grade? *points to self, with THUMBS, of course* THIS GIRL.  This is Tiare the draenei hunter with her devilsasur. The theme was Noblegarden in Outland, I believe? Anyway, that’s why there’s a Nagrand sky and a bunny :b Why does my shading on these always come out so dark? D: It looks good when I’m working on it, I swear :\ Maybe OpenCanvas isn’t the program for me /sadface

Anywho, I have a long weekend ahead of me, so WATCH OUT, COMMISSIONERS! MUAHAHAHAHA

Purple: Boomkin. I should never have to justify drawing adorable boomkins. Ever.

Green: Shurlee, my warlock. I really want to finish just one picture of a goblin someday.

Blue: Caelynn, my paladin. She always ALWAYS gets Stonecore as her random heroic. ALWAYS. My guildies have asked me if I’m some sort of witch. I think maybe I am, except I hate H Stonecore, so I’m clearly the worst witch.

Cyan?: A female worgen uh…Ignore me.

Woooooooooo update!  I need to plow through some more of these commissions so I can actually show some real deal finished artwork around this place :p

For one thing, this silly shirt design I did didn’t get approved. So I guess the HEY DON’T STEAL THIS PLEASE watermark is moot. STEAL IT! STEAL IT LIKE IT STOLE SOMETHING! That didn’t make sense and I apologize.

Other than that super tantalizing bit of news, I have some sketches and stuff.

A pretty pretty priestess! This one was done for the WoW_Ladies secret santa over at Livejournal

My troll hunter Rozsh, and her lion, Kruger. This is a new style I’m trying out! So fun.

Some guy love, for a WoW_artxchange on Livejournal. The theme was “couples” for Valentine’s, and I got these two :3 The redhead kind of accidentally looks like Conan O’Brien. I will NOT apologize XD

My baby undead priest, Aelynd (Aelynd II, Aelynd the Second, Son of Aelynd). I like to imagine her hair is green because it has accumulated some moss! So she plants flowers in it :3 She’s a nice undead <3 This particular picture is unfinished, but I have a plan for it. The plan is codenamed “And then things got weird in Hillsbrad” because oh man, things TOTALLY get weird in Hillsbrad XD

And finally, some gobbo sketches. These are kind of lame, but I have been drawing SO MANY GOBLINS and I had to have proof. The lady on the left is my warlock, Shurlee (her sisters’ names are Maebee and Trulee. I am a dork. I know). I need practice on my goblin mens, so I doodled one of the aquagoblins (at least that’s what I like to call them) with reference.

I’ve got more commissions rolling in, and I’m steadily plodding away at the ones what TOTALLY should have been finished by now! Shame on me! There will be more art soon

First off, a commission. Grimmtooth, the dwarven (dwarfen? I always thought it was “dwarven” and that the correct plural was “dwarves” but spellcheck doesn’t recognize ANY of those and people really like to say “dwarfs” which is okay with spellcheck but COME ON that’s not right, is it?! Okay, enough grammar here, sorry) hunter!

This guy was a blast to draw. Oh man, dwarves. I just can’t get enough. And dwarves with awesome personalities (and giant chicken mounts!)? Fuhgeddabouddit.

A super quickie of my night elf druid who never gets any art love, Feyren. She has a parrot pet that I later found out could have been sold for like 13k gold or something but I gave it to her and didn’t even know it >_> WHATEVER. They are adorbz together.

AND UH. I think that’s all I have finished for now! I’m still working on some commissions and another art exchange for Christmas, so I’ll probably post those eventually maybe

Incidentally, all words stemming from “dwarf” are totally boggling my mind now. Like, I’ve read the words over and over again so many times by now that they just don’t make sense anymore. My paladin is a what what now? Dwerf? Dwarv? Dwurfen?

Ugh, I hate putting giant fugly watermarks all over my images, but this is for my JOB, and the customer hasn’t even seen this yet so…deal with it? Sorryyyyy~ :c

I wonder if this will become a regular part of my art blog. Sometimes it’s fun to show off the silly things customers ask me to draw, so maybe? I might do it again the next time I get something entertaining like this

Where you been at?

Terrible grammar there, but I’ll take it.

I’ve been spending time with family, and getting my computer all set up!

Computer? What’s up with that?

My boyfriend (have I mentioned Zach? Well, it’s Zach. Has been for almost 7 years now)  got some new computer parts for me for Christmas! I’ve been working on reinstalling everything and getting things back to normal, but crashes and other associated weirdness have kept me from doing much art. Until I can totally zero in on what’s causing the crashes, I have to be super careful. I’d hate to lose someone’s art. Hell, I’d hate to lose my art, too.

I also have yet to purchase Cataclysm, which I’m 100% sure will totally consume what little time I have lately. I’d like to say I’m not going to buy it until I get some of these commissions done, but oh man. Goblins are calling to me. Must resist. D:

So why are you even posting?

Guilt, mostly.

I do have some art to share, though. It’s just…different.

And now, the setup:

It was a cold December. No wait. Maybe it was the spring semester. Whatever. It doesn’t matter.

The semester before my last semester in college, I decided to take a Beginning Fiction Writing class, because while I’m great at writing, (we’re talking research papers here. I can do those alllllll day)  I’m lacking in the story department. Also probably in the style department. Seriously, I write like I talk, all jumbled and way too wordy.

So I took Fiction Writing for Dummies.  While I didn’t really gain any confidence in the fiction writing department, it was a fun class, and it forced us to write stuff and read it out loud in front of everyone. Ohmygod.

We also read short stories in class. Our final project was basically our choice. Whatever we wanted to do with any of the authors or stories we read in class. You better believe I drew stuff. You also better believe I got an ‘A’. Yeah. *flex*

The following drawings are my own illustrations for the story Astro Pig by Seth Borgen (full story at the link, if you care to read. It may be a little NSFW? If like, your boss reads over your shoulder or if he’s not actually an adult who can handle a couple of fuckwords. Oops. Well, if he isn’t, then I’m sorry. Good luck finding the new job of your dreams!)

These are done in Sharpie and Prismacolor pencils. Please ignore the smudges. I seriously kept these things pristine until we had to present in class, then everyone just had to touch them. Also? I’m not going to narrate the story here, but I had to come up with a graceful way to not draw the little boy equipment that was described. So now my pictures are vaguely safe for work! Maybe!

Okay seriously, If I knew a better way to do dream sequences and memories other than putting them in fluffy clouds, I’d do it.

And the last one! The blue was so heavy and thick by the end that it started taking over the entire image :c I totally should have sprayed these, but they’re on cheapo copier paper and also I’m lazy. I don’t remember if there were planets in the story. Probably not. My favorite part of this image is the crispy Astro Pig on his Viking funeral pyre.

So there you have it! Art from like, over a year ago probably! My instructor’s friend wrote this story, and after we finished presenting, he asked if he could have copies of the pictures to give to the author. It was the best compliment I could have gotten! I scanned these in and turned the originals in with my folder on finals day. The whole ordeal made me reconsider my degree in something other than art, but I was invested at that point, dangit!

For real. That’s the way it happened. I sat down to watch TV one night and saw my neglected Sculpey sitting there. A couple of hours later, there was Bitey. Don’t judge him based on the crappy phone pictures! He really is a cutie.

Ah, these sacrifices I make.

Last month’s round for wow_artxchange on LiveJournal. A young Orc shaman and his spirit wolves This month’s round is starting up…COME JOIN THE FUN, I’M NOT EVEN PLAYING AROUND. DO IT.

Here’s one from a current commission. This is me learning to paint backgrounds in Photoshop. I pretty much snagged a WoW screenshot, blocked in colors over it, and then started detailing, watching the original background closely in another window. I’m hoping that this blatant ripoff will teach me some stuff about…I dunno…stone…textures? Buildings? I’m sure I’ll learn something here.

A huuuuuuuge thank you to Tami Moore for sharing her wonderful blue mechanical pencil lead discovery with me. I found some on Amazon for super cheap (but of course there was a hefty shipping charge). The store ended up sending me the wrong size lead and it breaks all the time, but it has totally been a life changing experience, so I’m going to order my next batch straight from Pentel

Back to commissions!

It shouldn’t concern anyone too much, I just thought it might be nice to have some kind of list of what I’m working on as a point of reference.

I’ve left off names, internet handles, and character names for several reasons. 1) I got the impression that a few people would like for these to remain semi-secret until they’re finished 2) Not posting others’ names is just safe internetting, people.

And since I feel bad about posting without having some kind of art to show for it, have something I did in 2006. Yeah.

I like his jaunty hat. Sue me.

I think I did this for the LiveJournal community Re_Image maybe? Four years ago. Terrible joke, but I still love the drawing <3
